Tasmazia

Valley leading to Cradle Mountain

It was our last day in Tasmania.  We drove towards Cradle Mountain first.  When we got to the lookout point the mountain was covered by a cloud, but the valley was beautiful.  The sign said this valley hasn't changed in 15,000 years.

Getting lost is fun right?

We swear we didn't do it!

We decided not to go into Cradle Mountain National Park because of the clouds and continued onto Tasmazia.  I read about this place online.  They have 8 mazes and the Village of Lower Crackpot.  It sounded fun, so this was how we spent our last day.  We had to enter the Great Maze right away. We had to work our way through the maze to get to the other sites in the complex.  They gave us a piece of paper, so we could mark off what we had seen.  Each of the mazes had something in the center that was the goal.  In the Great Maze, someone had come up with these silly signs that were making us laugh.  We found Cubby Town, The Crackpot Correction Centre, and the Balance Maze.

We worked our way out of this maze and came to the Village of Lower Crackpot.  The buildings were miniature sized and pretty creative.  We had fun reading what they were.  As we went into the rest of the mazes, Rudd and Dagan had a race to see who could get to the center first.  The mazes in this area were the Hampton Court Maze, Confusion Maze, Hexagonal, Maze, and the Yellow Brick Road Maze.

The Cage Maze
We went back into the Great Maze because there were two mazes inside of it that we hadn't found, and the center which is the Three Bears Cottage.  Rudd and Dagan went off again, so Adam, Sydney and I wandered together.  We found the Cage Maze first.  This ended up being all of our favorite.  It was made out of wood.  You could see through it which made it a little tricky.  Rudd and Dagan helped us find the Three Bears Cottage.  We had to crawl through the Secret Passageway to get there.  Then we went to find the Irish Maze.  It was the smallest and simplest.  We think it was made to poke fun of the Irish.  We had a great time!  It was silly fun!

There goes Dagan!

We headed for a late lunch and the airport.  I think Tasmania will be one of our favorite trips from our time in Australia!
